This is the El Sueno De La Muneca Lessons page. The first video is a recording of the piece, followed by the video lessons. There are links to the tabs of this song as well as to the sheet music/tab documents I make of all the pieces. When posting questions/comments, please mention which video your question is about. EL SUENO DE LA MUNECA
Hints on El Sueno De La Muneca:
This piece, aside from the harmonic parts, is a very attainable piece. There are not too many tough fingerings. The first main issue is the repetitions, which can be confusing to those not familiar with how they are written out. Pay close attention to the directions on the videos as to how these repeats happen, it is easy to get lost. There are two different endings to each of the two sections of the piece, don’t mix them up. The second main issue is the harmonics part of the piece. The second section of the piece, videos 6-8, have artificial harmonics on the first note of each measure. However, the very first time you play the second section, you play these notes normally without any harmonics. Only on the second time playing the second section do you play these notes with harmonics. Simple, huh? The good news is that the left-hand fingerings do not change when playing the second section with harmonics. The bad news is that the right-hand fingerings do change. The first time playing section two, play the first note with your thumb and then fingers i-m. The second time, you play the artificial harmonic and then use the fingers m-a to pluck. It’s a lot of info, I know, but I think this piece is worth the trouble. Check out the “Technique” and “Excercises” sections of this site for more info on harmonics.
